Alfred James Tapp, Peamarsh, Sussex

Alfred James Tapp born 1896,  married 1920, Police inspector in 1939. The sender of the postcard in 1908 calls him Jim.

At the age of 14  Alfred James (Jim) was a horseman a farm, living with his father Albert, a farm labourer.

Inspector Alfred James Tapp, who had completed 25 years' service, retired 1944 (21 October 1944, Hastings and St Leonards Observer)

Sent to Alfred C Holdstock born January 1921. His father died December 1921. His mother remarried 1926 to Alfred George Alce, a police constable in 1939.

 on the 1911 census William Abell lived at 10 St Anns Street. He was an out of work organ builder age 60 (born 1851, London) Wife was Louisa Marian Greer born Dublin. Their children were born in Manchester, Dublin & Bolton. Florrie was Florence Isabel born 1892, Bolton.  When Florrie died December 26 1965, on the way to the Royal Infirmary, Bolton, her address was still 10 St Anns Street.
Before Louisa married William Henry Abell she had been arrested for being drunk & riotous in Salford.

George & Jane Jupp lived at this address in 1911. They had had 8 children only 5 are still living, Agnes, Frank, Rose, Beatrice & Fred. George was a carter, Jane did washing & ironing (own account) family home is 3 rooms.

Mildred Tucker who married Lyle Porter Wilcox.

Mildred was born in 1901, North Dakota. Her 1920 passport application photo shows her with a bob rather than the long hair she has in this photo. Parents were both born in England. Her father William Arthur Tucker was born in 1869, Wiltshire, son of John & Sarah Deborah. William had a twin brother Charles Henry.
